BUSINESS GOLF OPEN
Background of the Event
In
the spirit of promoting health and fitness, culture
exchanges, and business cooperation, the CHINA-US ELITE
BUSINESS GOLF OPEN provides a great opportunity for Chinese
and American corporations from various business fields to
develop friendship and business. It offers a unique path for
US business leaders to discover, understand and embrace
China as a crucial step to extend their reach and investment
activities in the emerging market while Chinese players will
take this golden chance to explore future business
opportunities through multi-cultural communication.
The Golf Open will be held twice every year, one in spring
at a selected place in US and another in autumn in China.
The autumn event will be held in Kunming city this year in
China. The host of Golf Open will be alternated in different
cities between China and USA.
CHINA-US ELITE BUSINESS GOLF OPEN has been drawing lots of
attention from both American and Chinese governments. It is
supported by The State Sport General Administration of China，Ministry
of Commerce and Yunnan Province Municipal Government, while
it is sponsored by China Golf Association, Yunnan Province
Municipal Government, the Human Resource Development Center
of the State Sport General Administration of China. The Golf
Open is the first project out of plan during the past four
years. It is considered a top level business communication
event and sport match between Chinese and American
enterprises.
CHINA-US ELITE BUSINESS GOLF OPEN provides equal
participating opportunities to the candidates from both
countries。
25 players from each party will participate in this event.
Current Chinese players listed include SinoPec, CITIC,
Shengli Petroleum, China Mobile and China Unicom, ect.
American commercial leaders from real estate，electrical
communication and financial industries will take part in the
game. More business big shots from top Chinese and US
companies are expected to join as the game proceeds.
Special business events will be arranged in the 2004 Golf
Open to create valuable communication opportunities for the
commercial leaders from both countries and achieve the
purpose of the match.

Game Rules
The players
will compete to finish 18 holes in two groups. Each group is
further divided into 2 subgroups. Top 2 players from each
subgroup (totally 8) will enter the final game.
Golf Rule:
The game will
adopt the latest version of RULES OF GOLF approved by
Scottish St. Andrews Royal and Ancient Golf Club and PGA, as
well as the local rules adopted by the Competition
Committee.
Awards:
According to
the number of bars, the game has champion, 1st
runner-up, and 2nd runner-up awards for both the
gross category and the net category. There are also awards
for “Hole-in-One”, PARS 5 Longest Driver, and PARS 3 nearest
pin.
